Day of entry
Depending on your flight time and your arrival in Antalya, where you have the possibility to arrive until 23.00, you will be picked up by our VIP shuttle at the airport and driven to the hospital. There you will meet our caregiver and she will help you with your hospitalization.
The patient is accompanied on the way to consultations such as blood tests, ECG and chest X-ray to make sure that you are really ready for surgery. Drinking and eating is prohibited from midnight.
Preparation & surgical execution
You get to know your surgeon: Before the operation, you will be advised personally by your surgeon. You will have the opportunity to discuss the surgical plan again with your doctor. You will then be accompanied by our safety drivers in a wheelchair to the next preliminary examination, where an ultrasound of the abdominal area and a gastroscopy will be performed under twilight sleep. As soon as all preliminary examinations have been completed and checked by the doctor and we have received approval, you will be accompanied to the operating theater on the -2nd floor.
Anesthesia: Before the operation begins, you will be put under general anesthesia by the anesthesiologist so that you do not feel any pain during the entire procedure.
Laparoscopic access: The operation is performed laparoscopically. This means that only small incisions are made in the abdomen. Using special instruments (Covidien brand), around 80 % of the stomach is removed and the remaining part is shaped into a tube-like organ - hence the term "sleeve stomach". This reduction in stomach volume helps you to significantly reduce the amount of food you can take in, effectively helping you to lose weight. The new stomach is now only 15 to 25 % of its original size. It is closed with surgical staples and then triple stitched. After all instruments have been removed, the incisions in the abdomen are carefully sutured closed.
Back on the ward, you will be monitored by our nurses during the recovery phase and receive important instructions for aftercare to ensure that your recovery goes as smoothly as possible.

The next day, a seal test with contrast medium and ultrasound is performed to detect possible leaks or problems in the digestive tract, especially after the surgical procedure.
